Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actor and singer. One of her first Broadway shows included Wicked Legally Blonde Hair. Her performance as Essie Carmahiel in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel was rewarded with the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actress Annaleigh Ashford spent the majority of her career collaborating with acclaimed directors and actors across stage film and television and she is continuing her award-winning collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford will next be seen with Kumail Nannjiani in Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited Series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is in the production of Searchlight Pictures' terror thriller Dust which also features Sarah Paulson. It's also available in the form of an Hulu Original on Disney DTC. Ashford will return in 2023. He will star alongside Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the return of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail (director) and Jeffrey Seller (producer), the same duo who produced Hamilton directed the show. Ashford was most recently seen as Paula Jones in the new Ryan Murphy FX series American Crime Story Impeachment that is based upon the nation's crisis, which swept up Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky and Linda Tripp as principal characters as the nation's first impeachment hearings in over a century. She was in two seasons on the hit CBS comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also featured Ben Vereen and Hector Elizondo. Sunday in the Park with George Wicked legally blonde and the originating part of Lauren of Kinky Boots were among her other Broadway performances. She was born and grew up in Denver Ashford currently splits the time in Los Angeles and New York.
